HOW IT ALL STARTED

It all started when I was in my early teens. To my mother’s surprise, I would spend my allowance at our local health food store and spent hours learning about herbs and vitamins. But it wasn’t until my high school biology class that my interest in health came into its own. I found myself constantly thinking, “How can the human body possibly do all the things it does?!” I was mesmerized.

I eventually earned a Bachelor of Science degree in pre-med with a special focus on wildlife biology ( that's a whole other adventure!). After working in a conventional doctors’ office and becoming familiar with their relatively traditional approach, I realized I wasn’t fully aligned with their way of thinking or their methodologies for treating acute and chronic illnesses. Luckily, I learned the naturopathic approach to medicine - moving beyond symptoms to discover root causes, treat the whole person, and more importantly, help prevent illnesses. The next thing I knew, I was enrolled at the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. After graduation and board exams, I began my practice in Hawaii with a focus on preventative healthcare for families, helping them create natural-based, at-home pharmacies for their specific needs. This eventually led me to write my award-winning children’s book and curriculum series, Human Body Detectives, which helps children understand how their bodies work and what foods best fuel them.

My current practice is rooted in an even deeper focus on prevention, and I’ve expanded my services to offer my patients and clients a more holistic approach to wellness through functional lab work, workshops, access to high-quality supplements and skincare products, and virtual consultations. My motto is “Be Proactive. Be Healthy. Be Confident.” I’m here to help you live this every day.

Be well,
